Negative thinking can make your day dull and bring you down and ruin your simple pleasures. Usually our actions, thoughts and words creates what happens to us. Keep yourself busy
Keep yourself busy with things that will enhance your life. If you have too much of free time then it is natural that your mind will wander. Keep yourself engage in some tasks so that your mind is busy. You can hang out with positive or uplifting people, go to gym, join music classes or anything you really enjoy that will promote your positivity in life.
Wanting to change
When you have a real situation what are you going to do? Are you going to sit and sulk about situations or get up and take positive actions to move ahead instead of getting stuck. So go ahead and take positive action and be glad you did so. You brain will thank you for it.

If you look at the brighter side any situation can pay off at the end of the day. Say if somebody steals your wallet, look at everything else you still have that others may not.
